Blocks are the main elements of the game. They represent a 1 meter x 1 meter x 1 meter area of space. You can obtain a block by pressing and holding down on it (as long as the block is in the wilderness or in a town plot that you own). You can also obtain blocks from the in-game shop with Gold (including some premium blocks like wool that can't be found in the wilderness). To place a block, just tap where you want to put it (be sure to select the block type from your inventory first, at the bottom of the screen). Every block can stack up to 64 blocks for each type of block.

Grass

GrassBlock-0

A 1 x 1 x 1 meter chunk of dirt with grass growing on top. This is one of the most common blocks seen when walking in the wilderness. It can be purchased in the shop for 1 gold, but this is rarely done as large quantities can be collected for free in the wilderness. Their breaking time is 1 second. This block has been in Builder Buddies since the game was released in July, 2015.

Grass is often used at the bottom of flattened plots in a town. Sometimes, grass is used for pillows when making a bed. We don't recommend using this block for houses because it looks kind of ugly.

Dirt

DirtBlock-0

Dirt looks just like the grass block, but without the grass on top. It can be purchased in the shop for 1 gold, but huge quantities are available in the wilderness just underneath grass blocks. In an unaltered wilderness plot, there are always exactly three dirt blocks underneath a grass block (and all stone and gold ore under that). The breaking time is one second. This block is has been in the game since its release.

Dirt is sometimes used for houses, but not often as it "looks cheap". It is an excellent substitute for expensive brown wool in statues.

Log (Wood)

LogBlock

This block is officially called a log, but most players call it wood, probably because of Minecraft. It can be purchased in the shop for 10 gold, but large quantities can be gathered in the wilderness. It appears as a tree trunk, and there are always three blocks of log in a tree. The breaking time is five seconds. This block has been in the game since its release.

Logs are often used for...

- Buildings

- Making trees in a town

Sand

SandBlock

A sand block can be purchased in the shop for 1 gold, but huge quantities are available in the wilderness. You can find it at a beach, under a lake, or in dry lake. There are always 4 blocks of sand before stone and gold ore. The breaking time is one second. This block has been in the game since its release.

Sand are often used for...

- Buildings

- Paths

Leaf

LeafBlock

A leaf block can be purchased in the shop for 1 gold, but huge quantities are available in the wilderness. You can find these blocks on the tops of trees. There are exactly 63 leaves in a tree, except if another tree is very close and the leaves are shared. The breaking time is 0.5 seconds. This block has been in the game since its release.

Leaves are used for...

- Building a house (but not all leaves because it looks cheap, mix in other block types).

- Draining water.

- Making a tree.

Stone

StoneBlock

A stone block can be purchased in the shop for 2 gold, but huge quantities are available in the wilderness. You can find it under one grass and three dirt blocks, or under four sand blocks on a beach. The breaking time is eight seconds. This block has been in Builder Buddies since the game's release.

Stone is often used for...

- Some buildings.

- Roads

Gold Ore

GoldOre

A gold ore is the only block that cannot be purchased in the shop. It is available under layers of dirt and sand. Approximately 16% of blocks in the stone layer (five blocks below the surface) are gold ores. Mining this block will not put it in your inventory, but it gives you 1 gold. You cannot create or place this block. The breaking time is fifteen seconds, and this block has existed since the game's release.

Pumpkin

PumpkinBlock

An orange pumpkin block. It looks like an orange log on the sides, and a leaf on the top. It can be purchased in the shop for 2 gold. The breaking time is three seconds. This block has been in the game since its release, and cannot be found in the wilderness.

Pumpkins are often used for...

- Halloween decorations

- Substitutes for orange wool in pixel art.

Cobblestone

CobbleBlock

A cobblestone looks sort of like a cracking stone. It can be purchased in the shop for 2 gold. The breaking time is 10 seconds, which is slightly longer than stone. This block has been in Builder Buddies. since the game's release. It cannot be found in the wilderness.

Mossy Cobblestone

MossyCobble

A mossy cobblestone looks like a cracking stone with some plants growing on it. It can be purchased in the shop for 2 gold. The breaking time is 10 seconds. This block has been in the game since its release, and cannot be found in the wilderness.

Torches

Torch

A torch is the smallest block, only 2 x 2 x 10 pixels. This block is very special because is the only block that gives light. The torch appears at a different angle when you place it on a wall compared to when you place it on the ground. It also has special placing requirements:

  • Torches can be placed on every block except for leaves and doors. Also, it cannot be placed in water.
  • Torches can be attached to every block except leaves, glass and doors.

Torches can be purchased in the shop for 2 gold. It has no breaking time, and it has been in the game since its release. It cannot be found in wilderness.

  • If there is a flood and water destroys a torch, you cannot get it back. Also, if there is a torch on or attached to a block and that block is destroyed, the torch is permanently deleted.

Door

Door

A door looks just like a Minecraft spruce door, but the handle is on the right instead of the left. This block is very special because it is the only one that is two meters tall. It can be opened and closed by..

  • Every player in the wilderness.
  • Mayors in an unowned plot.
  • Plot's owner in their plot.

Doors can be placed on any block but glass, even underwater.

There are a lot of doors glitches. You can watch 8 glitches and 2 things you don't know about doors here.

The glitches are

  1. Doors block water even if it is open.
  2. Doors won't block lights even if it is closed.
  3. If you place a block next a door and walk into the door while standing on the block, you can float!!
  4. Doors can push other players if they are opened or closed while a player stands in the way..
  5. Door to Paris: NO LONGER AVAILABLE Place a door one block lower than the highest height of the world (place at Y:126), and then teleport up on it. Formerly, the game would crash and bring you to X:1 Z:1 (the middle of the server, which is a part of Paris City).
  6. When you make three stacked blocks adjacent to the door, and attach a torch to the side of the top block, the top of the door disappears.
  7. If you walk through water and then come back in a door, the world will look like night time.
  8. If you go exactly to the middle of a door with one side of the door touching the water and the other side in dry air, you will see the water differently. (Watch the video!)

Doors can be purchased in the shop for 34 gold. They were added on January 8, 2018, which was the January Mega Update Day. Doors cannot be found in the wilderness.
